My friend and I ordered the pork pad thai and the pork panag curry with crab Rangoons. We are not picky eaters and love all Asian food. The food looked good when it came out. We usually get chicken but they only have ground chicken. Crab Rangoons were okay. Thought lunch menu was pretty pricy for ~18 dollars. I was really surprised by the pad thai and curry, paid 1.50 extra to add the pork and pork was very low quality. It was stringy and chewy, kind of bouncy? Very salty dishes overall with minimal flavor. Pad thai tasted like it was seasoned with only soy sauce and tamarind. Service was good and place is clean but food is not it. Idk if the other reviews are so high because there’s not many Asian places in Norfolk? Idk not for me.

I sample Thai food across the country when I travel and most have been Top Tier Tasteful. First time ever traveling to Norfolk and checked out Sawasdee Thai Cuisine, when I tell you they are the Top of the Class Thai Cuisine Restaurant without equal. Not only was the Combination Fried Rice, substituting Shrimp for Pork (no upcharge) with medium spice magnificent, the warm, genuine atmosphere by the entire staff was the asterisk to already Awesome. If ever in Norfolk, this is a place you Must patronize and see for yourself, they're the BEST!!!

I really enjoyed my meal. I didn't get eating utensils with my order and had to go back in for them and was questioned about me asking for them. Thought that was rude, especially since I had just spent over $30 on a meal.

Overall great experience at this restaurant. I do agree with others that the food is a little sweet. I ordered the drunken noodles and pad thai. The drunken noodles wasn’t spicy but the flavor was really good, I would prefer more spice. The pad thai portion is huge, definitely worth the money you pay! Overall the service was great, atmosphere is better inside than out, and the portion size even better.
